Winter 2011 collection

This coming season d_luxe presents "Costumes & Crystal Armour", their largest and most impressive collection to date. Fans of this cult label will not be disappointed, with statement rings continuing to be strength of the label; hands are predicted to be very heavy in 2011.

d_luxe's latest collection explores the notion of contemporary and traditional costume juxtaposing objects such as feathers, antlers and head pieces. Alongside these recognizable elements d_luxe also experiments with an alternate reference to 'costume' by using clever exaggerations of scale, contrasting architectural geometries, and carefully placed gems to produce the perfect ‘crystal armour’ of the season.

Collaborating with Illustrator Kelly Thompson, d_luxe’s sources of inspiration all culminate in four incredible campaign illustrations where Thompson draws the jewellery pieces at a new scale and adorns the models with the ‘Bat For Lashes’ like headdress costumes.

Whilst forms are bold, a more whimsical and dreamier palette is explored via colour, where peach and lilacs are the colours for the season. Rings, pendants and bracelets made of gold and silver are adorned with cleverly inverted peridot, citrine, garnet & smokey quartz stones.
